Convergence  - Media technologies coming together and performing similar tasks - Hard wares capabilities to do more than before.  - Phones to make phones calls, send texts, emails, take pictures, access to the internet, listen to music produce films, distribute.   Media I Consume on a smartphone:  -Movies  -Music  - Games  - Books/ Comics  Media I produce on a smartphone:  - Snapchat  - Photo editing  - Film editing  - Instagram  The same is happening across all platforms of media. Take for example a digital SLR - once only used by only professionals - now you can buy one in marks and spencers software is the same, HD content can editededitied on your home PC using off the shelf software. 3 years ago at, the bbc they missed this - and were still looking at specialist software.

Analysing adverts Convention of TV adverts  Shots/ Camera Angles  - Entertainment  Editing   - The purpose would be to entertain  Voiceovers   - Inform and to promote as well.   Text  - Inform and to promote the services or product  Social media  - Not just a link put a hashtag and pictures of the social media Call to action  - What the target audience is being encouraged to do, buy a product, call a services  Other conventions:  l ogo Slogan Colour scheme Music Characters Storyline Beyonce heat:  music - Used the song fever as it links to the product colour - Red is used as it's following the heat and romance for the product and target audience.  font - Fantasy world, romantic driven font.  product - Its shown twice  call to action - visit the website to buy the product  key messages - To buy ...

ASA

ASA Harmful ads: Criminal damage - Kids are smoking in a black and white picture for a clothing brand. - It's condoning and encouraging an unsafe practice for small kids. -ASA took done the advert because a member of the public complained that it was irresponsible. Miu Miu (Prada)  - Teenage girl sitting in a train track. - the ad shows her breaking the law as your not allowed to be sitting on a train track. -ASA did not take down the advert because it was advertised on an adult fashion magazine so kids wouldn't see it. Misleading Pom Wonderful LLC  - It promotes that you can cheat death. With the Pom bottle and a noose around it. - This would be misleading because of its exaggeration to a very big extreme. - They claimed that it was puffery and that it was humour like red bull 'gives you wings' but it was still misleading for them to use as people could consider it has a health claim.
